Engvall remembers Giraldo

The tributes are pouring in from the world of comedy as the news of the untimely death of Greg Giraldo spreads. Among them, Bill Engvall joined in with his peers to express his sadness.

In a message online, Envall has this to say about Giraldo’s death, “I am deeply saddened … He was genuinely funny and was one of the good guys. The comedy world has again lost another great one. Thanks for the laughs Greg. Rest in Peace.”

Giraldo, 44, died Wednesday after being hospitalized last Saturday from an apparent accidental overdose on prescription medication. He had been partying at his hotel when paramedics were called to resuscitate him. Greg was a beloved stand-up comedian, one-time judge on “Last Comic Standing,” and frequent guest roaster on the Comedy Central series, most recently for David Hasselhoff. He leaves behind his ex-wife and four children.

Bill Engvall takes guest role in ‘Leverage’

Bill Engvall is obviously well-known for being a comedian. He’s also got some acting skills, hence The Bill Engvall Show. But he recently had a chance to branch out as an actor and take on the part of a criminal.

On Sunday, Engvall portrayed “Duke Penzer,” a former race car driver-turned-car dealership owner who sells hot cars, on TNT’s Leverage. The show, which is filmed in Portland, was recently renewed for a fourth season.

Engvall Celebrates 10 Years Of Blue Collar

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of Blue Collar Comedy and your favorite rednecks are  back… Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy!  To celebrate the boys will be hitting the road together minus Ron White.

Country Music Television (CMT) has prepared two specials in honor the comedians accomplishments, “True Blue: Ten Years of Blue Collar Comedy” and “Blue Collar Comedy: Ten Years of Funny.”  The shows will be aired back to back on Sunday, May 16, 2010, beginning at 7pm ET.  ( Read More…)

Bill Engvall going solo for upcoming tour

The Blue Collar Comedy guys have branched out since their days of the endless tour. Jeff Foxworthy hosts the “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?” TV show. Larry the Cable Guy has his own movie. Ron White has released his own comedy CDs and wrote a book; and Bill Engvall has his own show—“The Bill Engvall Show.”

In 2007, Bill Engvall got four new comedians together—John Caparulo, Reno Collier, Jamie Kaler, Juston McKinney— for the “Blue Collar Comedy: the Next Generation,” DVD.

Now, he also has his own tour as well. Bill Engvall will be touring the U.S. and Canada steadily between Jan. 7 and May 14. He also has shows scheduled for July 18, Aug. 12 and 14, and Sept. 10 and 11.

Bill Engvall hitting the road, TV show resuming soon!

Funnyman Bill Engvall is traveling this summer and fall, bring his brand of blue collar comedy to fans all over the country who can’t wait for new episodes of his TBS show!

The comedian will be hitting a number of venues between now and November, including stops at Seneca Niagara Casino (New York) in August, Palace of Auburn Hills  (Michigan) in October and Peppermill Concert Hall (Nevada) in November.

Engvall stars in “The Bill Engvall Show,” a spin-off of his “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” film and TV show, which includes fellow comedians Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy.

In addition to his TV experience, he has released eight comedy albums – the most recent was “15 Degrees Of Cool,” released in 2007.  His albums tend to include his comedy sketches set to music, with a chorus sung by another artist.

Engvall’s also been featured in a number of films, including “Delta Farce,” “Bait Shop,” “Country Fried Planet,” and “Strawberry Wine.”
